Prince of Peace Episcopal Church

Salem, Oregon

We are a mission parish of the Episcopal Diocese of Oregon. We are a warm and nurturing community who welcomes newcomers. We are located in lovely West Salem but we have community members from all over the greater Salem area.

We have a regular Bible study group.  Volunteers meet monthly to serve Marion-Polk Foodshare. In addition, we regularly gather food donations to help our neighbors. We have a regular men’s breakfast and, from time to time, gather together for nature walks.

As the need arises, we serve our neighbors through other projects, such as providing for local families at Christmas or providing funds for school lunches.

Our vicar is the Rev. Margaret McMurren, a native Oregonian who has served the people of Prince of Peace since 1993. Relating scripture to everyday life for others brings meaning and joy to her work.

Our Bishop’s Advisory Committee is composed of: Mary Knutsen (Senior Warden), Steve Buresh (Junior Warden), Mary Macy (Treasurer), Susan McNaught (Clerk), Rachel Bertoni (Member), Massimo Brofferio (Member), Nick Fortey (Member), and Diana Rainey (Member). Our Altar Guild Director is Pat Barnes.
